Non-Surgical Procedures

Dr. Houser provides many non-surgical cosmetic facial procedures. These include Botox injections, injectable fillers (including fat transfers and injections), lip augmentation, chemical peels, and skin rejuvination including Portrait Plasma and Laser 360.

Botox  Injections:

Botox injections have become quite popular over the past few years. Botox injections can be very effective in smoothing and softening the lines between the eyebows. Unfortunately, Botox is not always administered by correctly, and many people are now afraid of the frozen or expressionless appearance that we've all seen on certain celebrities.

The best way to ensure effective and natural looking results with Botox is to go to a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) for your Botox injections. Be sure to have a conversation with your plastic surgeon about the results that you would like to see.

There is really no down time following Botox injections. Many patients experience a bit of redness just after the injections, but resume normally activity shortly after.

Injectable Fillers:

Injectable fillers are a great solution for filling in and plumping up areas that have lost fullness over the years. Options include: Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Prevelle Silk, and your own fat!

Lip Augmentation:

Lip augmentation is achieved by injecting the patient's own fat (typically taken from the hip or abdomen) or an injectable filler into the lips, creating fuller and more youthful lips. Most patients choose to have fat transfers for this procedure because it produces a natural look and there is no risk of allergic reaction to the fat.

Chemical Peels:

The goal of a chemical peel is to smooth fine lines and wrinkles as well to even out pigment variations. The most common chemicals are trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol. TCA is generally used for full facial treatments or on the thin skin on the lower eyelids, while phenol works very well on the deep wrinkles around the mouth. Both types of chemical peels remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. Both require about a week of downtime, but the results can be quite dramatic; reducing blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation.

During a chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to the skin in order to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. A chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.

Portrait Plasma Skin Rejuvenation:

Portrait Plasma™ skin regeneration is unlike any other treatment available today. It is not a laser, radio frequency, or light-based treatment. It is a completely new plasma energy technology that works both on and below the surface of the skin to modify the skin's architecture so that new collagen is generated.

Portrait Plasma™ is effective in reducing the look of fine lines and deep wrinkles, treating sun-damaged skin, improving skin tone and texture, improving acne scars and tightening skin. It works on a variety of skin types.

During the short, in-office procedure, the unique scientific action of Portrait Plasma™ transfers plasma energy to the treated area without direct contact to the skin. This technique preserves the skin's outer layers which act as a protective dressing until new skin regenerates.  Clinical studies show that the improvements you see following your treatment will become even more dramatic over time. Unlike chemical peels, Portrait Plasma may be used on the neck and chest as well as the face.

Recovery from Portrait Plasma is about a week.

Laser 360™ Skin Rejuvenation Information

Laser360™ is a non-surgical, non-ablative, skin rejuvenation procedure with very little downtime. The Laser 360™provides lasting results in just 60 days. It combines three technologies to correct many skin problems and can be used on any skin type.

Laser360™ uses three technologies to provide safe and effective skin rejuvenation:

    * AFT intense pulsed light for color
Pulses of light even out your skin color and reduce tiny broken blood vessels and other color irregularities.
    * Near-infrared for tightness
Deep heating helps firms up any loose skin to give you a more youthful appearance.
    * Pixel® for texture and tone

This precision laser stimulates new collagen to grow. The new collagen improves your skin's texture and tone and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.

Each technology is delivered through a unique handpiece that is placed against your skin. Your skin will gradually rejuvenate over the course of your treatments.

Specially designed for the delicate skin on the face, neck and chest, Laser360™ skin treatments will even out your skin tone and reduce the visibility of tiny broken blood vessels. It firms up skin on the forehead, cheeks, chest, around the mouth, around the eyes, and the neck. It even treats redness due to roseaca.

Although the results of Laser 360™ are not as dramatic as a surgical face-lift, neither are the risks and the downtime (most patients return to work the day after their treatments). If you are bothered by the signs of premature aging but you are not ready for a facelift, schedule a consultation with Dr. Houser to find out if Laser 360™ treatments may be for you!
